ZTE has officially launched the Axon 30 series. It features three flagship-level smartphones – the Axon 30 Ultra will be available in the US and Canada market which is a first-timer. The other phones in the series are the vanilla Axon 30 and Axon 30 Pro.
The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra
One of the smartphone’s key highlights is the three 64MP rear cameras. The module packs a 64MP f/1.6 main IMX686 sensor with OIS, a 64MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture, a 64MP ultrawide sensor with 120° FoV, a 5x periscope lens with 123mm focal length & OIS, and an 8MP sensor. The main lens can shoot 8K videos at 30 frames per second.
The 6.67″ AMOLED panel has a punch-hole that features a 16MP selfie camera. The display sports a 144Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1080p+ resolution, DCI-P3 100% and HDR10+. Guarding the display against cracks is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Inside the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra is the Snapdragon 888 chipset. There are three memory configuration to choose from – 8/256GB, 12/256GB and 16/1TB.
The battery capacity is 4,600 mAh with a 66W fast wired charging support. There is no wireless charging support here.
Pre-order for the Axon 30 Ultra starts April 19 in China. The phone will be available in Mint, Black and White body colours. The base 8/256GB is priced at CNY4,700/$720/€600. The 12/256GB costs an extra CNY300 while the top model retails for CNY6,666/$1,020/€850.
The ZTE Axon 30 Pro
The phone is similar to the Ultra model. Though its OLED display has a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The base memory configuration is 6/128GB.
The device has only two 64MP cameras – an IMX682 sensor and an ultrawide sensor with 120° FoV. The two other cameras inside the module are 5MP macro and 2MP depth sensors.
The ZTE Axon 30 Pro packs a 4,200 mAh battery capacity with 55W charging. Its base 6/128GB will retail for CNY3,000/$460/€385 while the 8/128GB and 8/256GB retails for CNY3,300 and CNY 3,600 respectively.
